About CPD

Definition: Professional development is a process that enables individuals to maintain and improve standards of practice through the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes.The center for professional development is responsible for organizing training programmes for all categories of staff working in the National University.

Since the educational process is a team work requiring continuous collaboration and interaction between the three departments, some activities will be directed towards only one department while others will be open for all staff. Of course, for any training programme to succeed, all members of staff have to play their part

CPD Objectives

  • To promote a culture of continuous education and life- long learning.
  • To provide opportunities for training and education for staff.
  • To introduce new concepts of teaching and different ways of acquiring information.
  • To provide opportunities for the staff to reflect and provide feedback on their own practice.
  • To encourage and support research.
  • To empower the staff with both knowledge and skills necessary for improving the standard of the service provided.
  • To collaborate with national and international centres.
  • To encourage the staff to improve their professional effectiveness and work satisfaction
  • To make use of unexpected opportunities-experts’ visits- that can be beneficial to medical educators within the University.
